The purpose of the Wellness Intern position is to assist with the research, planning, operation and implementation of health, wellness, and fitness programs, events, and services provided by the Employee Engagement sub-team. The wellness program project is in the first phase of research and development- this is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the beginning of a new corporate engagement initiative. The majority of the internship will be based in research. Interns will promote the mission of the HR Department in action and spirit. This role will be required to work 30-40 hours per week for a duration of 8 - 12 weeks during the Summer of 2019.


•Pursuing an undergraduate degree in Education, Exercise Science, Wellness Health Promotion, or related health field  

•Preference is given to students who require an internship for credit

•Experience and interest in the fitness/wellness field  

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Support, promote, and aid in the further improvement and development of the Dutch Bros Coffee Wellness program:

•Research and recommend wellness software platforms for implementation at DBHQ

•Benchmark against other corporate wellness programs

•Assist in compiling participation data in cultural and wellness initiatives  

•Assist with the planning, implementation and evaluation of cultural and wellness events hosted by the Engagement team

•Summarize and interpret wellness data and use this information to recommend programming and plans of action 

•Promote wellness programs

•Design and implement a special project, to be decided on with the •Employee Engagement & Internal Relations Manager

•Data entry

•Assist and support other areas of the Engagement as needed, to include Recruitment, Benefits, and Professional Development

Attend cultural based activities: 

•Attend Trav Talks (weekly)

•Sisterhood/Brotherhood (monthly)

•Family Day (quarterly)

•Friday Dub Shots (weekly)

•Coacha (case-by-case)

Physical Requirements:

•Occasional lifting up to ten lbs. 

•Must be able to work in a climate controlled, office environment 

•Vision must be good or corrected to normal to perform normal job duties

•Hearing must be good to have the ability to understand information to perform job duties

•Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary

•Sitting for extended periods of time

•Manual dexterity needed for keyboarding and other repetitive tasks

Competencies Required:

•Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including ability to deliver presentations  

•Must possess good organizational skills and be efficient in multitasking  

•Ability to work independently and in a group setting  

•Ability to work in a dynamic, changing, and diverse environment

•Full or part-time student in good academic standing
